The Caring Community Foundation Inc.

The Caring Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides financial support to cancer patients in need by providing assistance with rent, utilities, treatment or other expenses that become difficult to manage during cancer treatment. The Caring Community Foundation is run largely by volunteers. As was the goal for the very first patient, the organization raises money to provide financial assistance to cancer patients in need in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina. Through the help of social workers, patients are identified and receive checks to help pay for rent, food, transportation, medication - the bare necessities. Just one example: One woman with cancer and receiving hospice care was just about to be evicted from her home when the Caring Community Foundation stepped in to pay her monthly mortgage payment. Our goal at CCF is to make the gift of giving a seamless, effective process. We rely on the generosity of sponsors and donors – some affected by cancer themselves and some who simply understand the power of making a difference in the lives of others. We rely on the social worker community to identify patient needs and to assist patients with their grant requests. Respect for our patients and their confidentiality is a top priority. We do our absolute best to eliminate “red tape” with an expedient review process, distributing most grants within two weeks of approval. We understand the impact of a health crisis. Our mission is to help ease the burden of everyday concerns that weigh so heavily during cancer treatment. Through modest grants, we know the power of a helping hand and a concerned heart. We are a community of people who care –we are The Caring Community Foundation.
