Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry

Founded in 1969, the Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that assists Catawba County’s unemployed, underemployed and indigent residents by providing crisis relief, support, and education, as well as health care and food. Client Services provides crisis assistance for individuals and families, such as mortgage/rent and utilities, and such items as blankets, quilts, sleeping bags, and backpacks. We also provide on site shower facilities and shower kits to those in need of a shower. These shower kits include individual soap, shampoo, shaving supplies, towels and wash clothes furnished by church groups and community individuals. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are also often donated by area dentist offices.
