About this program

The Glen Ed Pantry exists to provide regular, emergency and referral services to people whose household income falls below the Illinois Department of Human Services eligibility guidelines. These services include: food, clothing, rent and utility assistance, school supplies, Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets and referrals for vision and dental care. The Glen Ed Pantry service area is southern Madison County, Illinois. The Glen Ed Pantry's facilities, equipment and food storage are inspected annually by: Madison County Health Department, St. Louis Area Foodbank, Illinois Department of Human Services and United States Department of Agriculture. The Glen Ed Pantry is funded by: Greater St. Louis United Way, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and local donations of cash, food and supplies. The Glen Ed Pantry is an ecumenical agency governed by a Board of Directors representing 18 different churches within Edwardsville and Glen Carbon. The Glen Ed Pantry was established in 1980.
