About this program

The Waccamaw Siouan Tribal Housing Program is funded by NAHASDA which was signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1996. NAHASDA stands for the Native American Housing and Self-Determination Act. The law allocated funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to Indian Tribes to provide safe and sanitary housing for low to moderate income families. This program assists low to moderate income families with Homebuyers Education and housing Counseling, Rehabilitation of owner occupied dwellings and Down Payment assistance for first time homebuyers. Promoting Fair Housing, this office complies with the Fair housing and Equal Opportunity Laws.
