The Salvation Army Social Services Kent County - Housing Assessment Program

The Salvation Army, an international non-profit Christian organization whose mission is to meet human needs without discrimination, was founded in 1865 and has been operating in the greater Grand Rapids/ Kent County area since 1883. The Salvation Army Social Services supports Kent County residents to meet their urgent food and housing needs, access basic health care, enhance their life skills and achieve greater stability and well-being. The Housing Assessment Program (HAP) is Kent County’s central intake for persons who are currently homeless or at immediate risk of homelessness. HAP provides a consistent assessment and referrals to available housing resources in the community, as programs’ eligibility and availability allows.
