The Salvation Army - Selma

Knowing no social, ethnic or class boundaries, The Salvation Army ministers from the heart every day to the physical and spiritual needs of individuals and families in the Black Belt region. We understand that emergencies need to be resolved as quickly as possible, especially when they concern food, clothing, medicine, rent and utility assistance. To this end, The Salvation Army's Emergency Family Assistance Program addresses these needs with speedy responses, the temporary provision of food, clothing and financial assistance. Survivors of disasters (including fire) may also receive furniture, appliances and other household items. Clients are also referred to other community resources that can assist in meeting their immediate and long-range needs. Assistance is determined on a case-by-case basis and services are provided according to the verified need and available funds.
