About this program

The Salvation Army is an international organization founded in 1865 in London by William Booth. He left the Methodist ministry to set up Christian Mission Centers to serve those living in the slums of London’s East End who were not welcome in mainstream churches. The Salvation Army has been serving the residents of Jackson County, Oregon since 1898. We provide impoverished individuals and families with transitional housing and supportive services; food boxes, utility assistance, clothing and household items; Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes and toys. In addition, we offer financial assistance with utilities, housing, prescriptions, and home repairs, etc. for those 65 years of age and older. Other services include youth enrichment programs, Community Cares Ministry, weekly Bible studies and worship services.
