About this program

The Adele and Robert Stern Red Shield Center is The Salvation Army corps community center in Englewood, one of more than 20 corps community centers throughout Chicagoland. Corps Community Centers are the heart and soul of The Salvation Army. They are the entry point for people in need seeking all types of assistance — assistance with feeding their families, paying rent and utility bills, educational and recreational programs for people of all ages, counseling, worship and more. Programs and services offered by corps community centers are specific to the needs of the communities in which they are located and thus may differ from center to center. All corps community centers have something to offer to people of all ages – from children to seniors. The Adele and Robert Stern Red Shield Center is a community-based facility that focuses on programs for the entire family. Through programs and services that address and enhance the needs of the body, mind and spirit, the center seeks to transform a community by changing lives and is open to everyone without discrimination and regardless of religious beliefs.
