The Housing Authority of the City of Sparta, created in 1970 by an act of the City of Sparta, provides safe, decent and affordable housing to elderly an/or handicapped low-income residents of Sparta. The members of the Housing Authority are appointed by the Mayor to 5 year terms. The Housing Authority manages one apartment complex, Brookside Apartment at 307 N. Court Street. 269-2188.
