About this program

The Seneca Nation Housing Authority was founded in 1968 to provide housing for low-income native families through Homebuyer Education and Assistance, Rental Housing, Elder Housing and Homebuyer Opportunities. The Seneca Nation Housing Authority has made significant strides in the areas of grant management and updating financial system. In 2007, the federal loan guarantee program, title the Section 184 Loan Program, began to approve loans for native homebuyers off reservation land in New York State. The Seneca Nation Housing Authority assists these applicants with the often lengthy and complicated process to the extent the law proves. From 2006 to the present, 24 rental and homebuyers properties have been built and 26 homes have been proved for Seneca families.
