ORION Cancer Foundation

The O’Callaghan Resource Integrated Oncology Network (ORION) Cancer Foundation is a Southern Nevada based nonprofit charity that assists individuals unable to afford the essentials of daily living while undergoing treatment for cancer. The ORION Cancer Foundation was established in honor of former Nevada Governor Mike O’Callaghan and First Lady Carolyn O’Callaghan, both cancer survivors. Carolyn and Mike were well known for their genuine care and compassion for those in need. The acronym ORION is borrowed from the constellation of a hunter whose dedication is symbolic of the O’Callaghan’s lifelong pursuit to help the common man. Stars of ORION shine bright in the winter, helping us navigate through the cold and darkness. The constellation also warms the sky in spring, when new beginnings and hope emerge. The ORION Cancer Foundation is nonprofit organization of Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. Patients undergoing cancer treatment often experience long hospital stays and missed work days. Loss of work time, plus the costs of healthcare, frequently cause financial distress. The ORION Cancer Foundation was established to help lessen the financial burden resulting from medical crisis by helping to pay for essential needs and services.
