Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Inc. (MVCAA) strives to help families throughout Oneida and Herkimer Counties to become self-sufficient. We know that sometimes families experience problems and obstacles that prevent them from having the basics they need to improve their situation and to maintain a healthy, productive life. That’s where MVCAA comes in. We provide a number of services to help families get to that point.

Emergency Shelter Grants: Application and access to grants that provide emergency assistance for either arrears or first month's rent. Payment is limited to one month payment. Funds cannot be used for security deposits; Family Unification Program: Rental vouchers and case management are made available to families where lack of adequate housing threatens to separate children from their families, or where it is preventing reunification; HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program)
