About this program

Mobile Area Community Action Committee, Inc., a non-profit organization, was established on July 20, 1966. The purpose was to eliminate the paradox of poverty in the midst of abundance in the greater Mobile area, and to join with other areas of Alabama and the United States, in a concerted effort to eliminate poverty. Mobile Area Community Action Committee, Inc. opened to everyone the opportunity for education, training, and the opportunity to live in decency and dignity. Later, the agency became Mobile Community Action, Inc., serving both Mobile and Washington counties.

A lot is going on with Covid and hurricane Sally ..appointments were cancelled because of the weather my issue is the workers getting smart eith thr clients and saying they called. One thing about a call it like show up on your phone. THE LADY IN CITRONELLE MOUTH IS TO SMART. SHE NEED A CLASS IN PUBLIC RELATIONS

I've been trying to get in Touch with a community action for help for 2 weeks now! Mobile says they don't have funds for creola, Citronelles number is disconnected, and whoever Mrs. Nettles is at Mt. Vernon either isn't checking her voice-mail or just isn't returning my call. We are in an extreme EMERGENCY I have an 8 yr old child, my spouse, and myself in the home. We have had no water for two week. We also have an eviction notice and power will be gone soon too. We have never had any kind of government assistance so I have no idea what to do. I have no transportation to work until he gets 200$ to fix my car which will be a while because he lost his job and has been out of work for two months. He just started a new one this week but a week in the hole means two more weeks with no water. If anyone sees this that can help me get in touch with someone that can help, please text or call myself or Rickey Reed at 2517516712. Thank you to anyone that can help! 11/10/20
