Metropolitan Ministries

Metropolitan Ministries helps prevent homelessness by serving those living on the edge of homelessness. Many are just a rent or utility payment away from losing the security of shelter. In the network of services provided by other social service agencies in the community, Metropolitan Ministries is known for offering a bridge to continuing self-sufficiency, especially to clients who have exhausted all other kinds of support. Metropolitan Ministries works with local utility companies and landlords to provide payments to keep the power on, to help families stay in their homes, to get food and vital medicines to families who need them. For some, that support may be on going, like monthly help with food. For others, it might mean a short-term help with paying their rent or utility bills, or perhaps help paying for a prescription medication. Every client's situation is unique, and the Metropolitan Ministries' staff is dedicated to doing all we can to help get their lives back on track.

Assistance with: Past due utility bills (electricity, gas, water, and sewer), Past due rent payments, Food vouchers to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank available only on Mondays and Tuesdays, Grocery Store for seniors available only on Wednesdays
