About this program

The Prevention, Retention and Contingency (PRC) program helps employed low-income families overcome immediate barriers to achieving self-sufficiency. This program helps families meet needs required to accept a job offer or retain a job as well as emergency needs that, if not resolved, could threaten the health, safety or well-being of one or more household members. PRC benefits are available throughout Ohio but vary from county to county based on local needs. Each county has a PRC plan that covers services and benefits available and eligibility criteria. General services may be available to: Household with minor child(ren); Household income within the guidelines of 200% Federal Poverty Level; Maximum cap of benefits within an 18 month time frame does exist and will vary depending on category of assitance services; Caps depend on category of services that you need assistance with; Limited non-custodial parents; Household’s without any sanctions or penalties applied to them from any federal programs.
Services offered
PRC include: Rent, Mortgage and Deposits (Deposits are limited to subsidized housing); Utility payments (No heating assistance while the Home Energy Assistance Program is in effect); Vehicle repairs for employment; Uniforms and required equipment for employment purposes
