About this program

Since 1989, Irvington Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (INIC) has been designated as the Social Service Agency to provide community resource and referral services for the Township of Irvington. INIC’s mission is to address the needs of individuals and families at or below the poverty level. INIC receives funding for programs such as Social Services for the Homeless and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families under the Community Service Block Grant through Essex County Division of Community Action. In addition, we receive funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for a Transitional Housing Program for homeless families.
