About this program

Helping Hand was originally founded in 1971 to meet the needs of people, local and transient, in the Myrtle Beach area through a ministry of crisis intervention and referral. Helping Hand was initially organized as an outreach ministry for teenage visitors to Myrtle Beach. In 1976, Helping Hand was extended to include serving transients of all ages and a few local residents who needed assistance.
