Good Samaritan Ministry

In the spirit of the biblical benefactor, a few of the churches of Crystal Lake, Illinois in 1991 established the Good Samaritan Ministry, a non-profit, benevolent organization dedicated to helping Crystal Lake residents who are experiencing financial difficulties and facing loss of living necessities. Today, Good Samaritan Ministry is supported by 12 local churches and more than 30 loyal volunteers. Through the years, the Ministry has received more than 2000 requests for help and paid out nearly $500,000 to needy individuals and families. Our volunteers work Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am to 11:00am, interviewing clients, verifying needs and providing assistance when appropriate. Referrals are made to other agencies for services outside our purview.
