About this program

The Georgia Avenue Family Support Collaborative (GAFSC) was formed in 1998 when two organizations, Lutheran Social Services and the Urban Family Institute, reached out to residents and churches in Ward 4 and Ward 1 to respond to the needs of at-risk families and children. The initial planning grant from the D.C. Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) enabled GAFSC to begin its outreach to residents and community groups, assess needs in the target communities and begin building the governance and infrastructure of the Collaborative.
Services offered
Family Rehousing and Stabilization Program (FRSP) - provides a security deposit and rental subsidy for up to twelve months to re-house families who are homeless but can demonstrate that they will be able to live independently of FRSP assistance within twelve months
