About this program

Connections provides housing, employment and supportive services to move individuals and families out of the shadow of homelessness. Prevention is the key to ending homelessness. If paired with a program that houses people living on the street, it creates the possibility of solving the problem. Working to remove people from the street without preventing new people from becoming homeless will never end the cycle. Our Homelessness Prevention Program works with households facing eviction due to arrearages in rent or utilities. We help people become self-sufficient by stabilizing their current situation and providing education to help them manage their finances moving forward. We provide initial help to clients in the form of temporary financial support. We then help them become stabilized via intensive, client-centered support that mixes workshops with one-on-one counseling. Case managers and clients collaborate to create detailed outcome plans with specific action steps that will help clients solve the problems that brought them to the point of crisis.
