About this program

The Community Action Commission of Belmont County began in May of 1965 as a part of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty. Since that time, our agency has worked toward developing solutions to address poverty and poverty's effects. The Community Action Commission (CAC) is dedicated to fostering self-reliance in individuals, families, and communities. For over 40 years, CAC has focused on helping low-income residents overcome poverty, as well as poverty's causes and consequences.
