Bloom Township General Assistance Department

The Bloom Township General Assistance Department is available to disadvantaged Bloom Township residents who need financial support, counseling and assistance in order to maintain a constant quality of life and stable lifestyle. General Assistance is based on financial and nonfinancial elegibilty. General Assistance is available to those who do not qualify for Federal (SSI) or State of Illinois (TANF) assistance. The General Assistance Department provides many programs to eligible township residents.

General Assistance (Assistance is available for Shelter, Food, Utilities, and Household Supplies and Personal Incidentals if eligible); Emergency Assistance; Utility Assistance (Assistance is available to eligible residents once in a 18 month period, federal low income guidelines are followed for this program. Our Utility Assistance Program is available twice a year, in the spring and fall)
